When I was a kid and I had to do homework and reports for school, my father always said to me to use his large bound volume collection. The topics were usually always covered, like space exploration, animals, countries. Usually the articles were very basic and always ended like this:
"...........but for now this is all we know. In the near future in the New Kingdom we will be able to learn even more on a perfect earth."
Or something stupid like that.

yeah - hehehe!! I remember doing that too....

Its funny how the JW's always look to some future point in time (after Armageddon) to be happy or to be able to know more or to "live" or use it as an excuse because we aren't "perfect" yet...

Sheesh - my wife and I are living for the 1st time and know what Jesus love really is for the 1st time. We don't have all the answers but we never say anymore "well when we are perfect..." We now enjoy life, enjoy our faith, our family and every thing we do in a much more balanced way. We are so much more happy than ever. We now truly know what its like to receive the fruits of the spirit and live according to His will and belong to Christ alone and NO denomination or man!!

Its so awesome to be free!!

- Chris. :)

I recall that too. Dad would find the WT Indexes and see if the topic we had a project on was covered.

HAHAHAHA  I SO remember that!! That is a good memory of being a JW kid in grade school... anyone try to "place" the creation book to their Science teacher? I did and I remember my Biology teacher rolling his eyes because he must have had 10 copies on his shelf, from previous JW students… He gave me a quick response... “yeah I read it…” At the time my little feelings were crushed… I thought I did a big thing… my chance to witness to a my teacher hahaha

Another funny thing about Awake articles was they were always printed several weeks and months after a topic was in the major media.
And remember the stories of a African person walking 20 miles through crocodile infested waters dragging 7 children to attend a meeting?
How dare we miss a meeting in it snows a few inches?

I'm with you Chris. We don't have to wait until the "new system" to be happy, we can rejoice in Christ now. Can you imagine if the apostles had the attitude that Witnesses have now? They would have been miserable! They knew that it would be many years before the prophesies would be fulfilled, yet they were joyful in the Lord. We need to follow their examples.

God bless,

Mrs. R
