Hi Starling, yes the site has been a bit on the slow side and like you I was wondering were all the posters where over the past few months.
I have been musing around the post of the past, which kept me going especially the prayer and praise forum which had only three prayer requests this year.
we are coming near to the end of this year and I was wondering if anyone on the forum had anything out standing (for the lack of a better word) to share on the forum which in turn we may encourage one another.

Of course this post (my post) should be in the prayer and praise forum so I should start there.
Any way good to hear from you Starling.

It's been a full year for me. I went back to college full time. Family, work and college, had little time for much else but sleep. LOL

Starling -- I am new to this site. I spoke with the administrator, Cal, who helped me get signed in. He explained to me that the site was having trouble with people who were getting onto the site and posting pornographic pictures, etc. So, he had to lock it. However, it appears people can still post. God bless you. I hope things work out for you and your family. Stay prayerful, study yur bible.

I am so sorry to be so long in replying, I know you have probably given up waiting for an answer by now.

I am not really sure why the forum has slowed down so much. I can explain a few things that have happened and give you some theories.

The first problem, as you probably know, is that I had to shut down self registration and ask people to email me with a user name and let me register them. This is, as StillStanding mentioned because of the deluge of pornographic sites trying to register to post their material. I was getting about a dozen attempts per day and it was very time consuming and annoying to deal with. This has severely reduced the number of new users.

Another factor in my opinion is the popularity of web sites like Face Book. All four of my adult children and some of my grandkids are on Face Book and they got me started on it. I have noticed that there is a large number of former Jehovah's Witnesses on face book and we keep in close contact that way. It has proven to be a good tool for me to keep in contact with friends and family around the country.

Just wanted to give you my two cents and let you know I'm alive and kickn'.

No matter the personal situations of others, I think this site and forum is fantastic. I am sure people still remember it and will come back here later on.

Just a quick note, I have reopened self registration, maybe we will get some new folks I Think I have have found a way to at least slow down the attempted registration of the pron and drugs for sale web sites that may work, we will know in a day or two. In the short time registration has been open (about 18 hours) there were over a dozen attempted registrations to give you some idea of the problem.

Lets hope it works!

Thank you cal, i understand now whats been happening. i must say i really cant understand why people try to make you read what they want to read, it makes me feel ill any type of porn, yuk cant stand it. but for me i would like to thank you for looking after us on the site im sure you spent many hours trying to out wit these people.{ if you can call them people} not a christian thing to do is it, anyway thank you again. starling

Hi Cal, indeed this "Face Book" site seems to be a new way of communicating these days. Again I realize how difficult it must be to keep these hackers (or whatever they are) away from the web site.
Like Ken, I too think that "TowerWatch Ministries" still has a lot to offer to the individual who is looking for help. It has definitely help me in my "Research" on the watchtower org and to that I am very grateful to you and others on the forum for all the help that has been given me.
