We used to get alot of active Witnesses and people studying with the Witnesses come on the forum with questions. I thought it was because they could come here without any family or KH members finding out they were consulting with "apostates". But lately I haven't seen any. So I'm wondering, has the Society been pressuring the members to stay off the Internet more than they were before? I know for a fact they get on Facebook, because my cousins did and many of their KH friends are on too. And while they can say that Facebook is innocent enough and they're being held accountable by other witnesses, it's easy to go from one website to another without anyone noticing. I don't read any of their literature :x , and besides they have their "secret Watchtowers" now which I'm even less interested in :puke: . So my question is, does anyone know if any stricter rules and guidelines for Internet use have been issued by the WTS?

God bless,

Mrs. R

Hi Mrs. R!
I haven't been on here in a while...doesn't seem to be as much happening. I used to enjoy the conversations here.

I can't really answer your question, but find it interesting. Some of the JWs I know do go on the internet for a few things, but most are older & not very knowledgeable about computers. I sure do wish they would come and interact here or TEST ALL THINGS somewhere. I definitely go the sense a year or two ago that they were encouraged to stay away from the internet.

I also think there is a fear that they will find things that prove that the Watchtower teachings are false and have changed so much over the past 100+ years. In many cases finding this evidence is seen as questioning Jehovah...not questioning the Watchtower teachings. As a result should they disagree, many times their only friends are Jehovah's Witnesses...and the fear of losing their friends is thought to be more significant than TESTING ALL THINGS and seeking real truth. So some of these fears are may be what keeps them away from even engaging in a conversation on a site like this.
