I just got a call from our health-care-provider. I was waiting for an acceptance + referral for my daughter to be seen by a specialist, and I actually have to bring her in on Monday at 9:30 am in Palm Harbor.

I lost a kidney at age 17 because of a "reflux" from birth, and my poor 4-year old starts to show symptoms that point to the same defect. If You believe in the healing power of prayer please pray for her.

The tests she has to endure Monday, won't be fun. I don't even want to think about it yet. But I pray that there is not worse coming up after the results!

Here is the update on my little girl:

after hearing her symptoms and my family history, the urologist did not do the "scope" on Monday. He is convinced she has a "reflux". Her chance of having it is 53 %, just because I had it. (My right kidney was destroyed by the age of 17, my mother lost her right kidney in her twenties.)

Faith has to undergo a test for this on September 16th at 7:00 am. She will be under full anesthesia.

This test will determine if and how bad her reflux is. (There are 4 grades)

If it is a "grade 1" she might outgrow it, but has to go through the same test once a year.

If it is a grade 4 she has to undergo surgery. (Obviously myself and my mother never outgrew it.) The doctor said that I was lucky, because normally the reflux would occur on both sides and not just on one.
