If you've kept up with the news, you probably know that Tropical Storm Katrina is getting ready to hit South Florida, and it is expected to become a category 1 hurricane before landfall. Please pray that the storm doesn't intensify, and that the Lord keep us all safe. Our pastors are returning today from a conference in Georgia, and we are praying for their safe return. Keep us in your prayers my friends.

Blessings,

Mrs. R

Hi Mrs. R.

I am right there with you! Thinking about last years season still makes me "cringe". We live close to Tampa. Last season we have been blessed by divine protection, but it was devastating all around us. When we took the boards of our sliding doors, one of those giant trampolines was laying right in front of it. (All bent out of shape of course.) It had made it from 4 properties down the road over 3 high wood fences. I was so glad we had the boards up!
It was the Hurricane that "hovered" on your side of Florida over the whole weekend, but it was so big in diameter, that we already had wind gusts on this side of Florida by Saturday! It blew away our girls outdoor climber (little tykes structure) on Saturday evening. We ran after it like maniacs! :-D After we caught up with it, we managed to push it in our garage. By that time we have been soaked to the bones! My little girl thought it was hilarious (watching from inside)...to her it was just like in America's Funniest Home Videos! (She is 4 years old) The storm lasted until Monday at noon. NO FUN!!!!!

We will keep our prayers up!

Here is the latest five day map! 11AM Thursday! I will try to post new maps as they are available.

This on my prayer list and I will ask our prayer group to add it to our list when we meet tonight.

I am going to put South Florida on the weather report on our portal.

I put Fort Lauderdale on the weather map on our portal page. I am not very familiar with Florida, so if anyone knows of a better city to track the storm let me know and I will change it.

Folks in South Florida you are in my prayers!

Well it looks like West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami are the three main cities in the path of this storm so I put all three on our portal page.

Please correct this Buckeye in-lander if I am wrong.

Gosh, I didn't even know about that storm. Keep me updated too, Cal. Especially since I don't have TV. I had to suspend my satellite service a month ago because they are renovating our balcony and that's where my dish was. So right now, we don't have TV service - which hasn't bothered me in the least. Makes me wonder why we felt the need to have it in the first place.

Anyway, guess I'll have to call VivCNN to get the updates! (We call her that because she spends all day watching CNN :-D ).

Hello Mr. R!

How are you today? "Katrina" moved out of your area now. I hope nothing happened to your family or property. As you are a Floridian and a "Hurricane Pro" you probably know to stay away from trees even after the storm and also from downed power lines.
I know Millions are without power right now, so please let us know as soon as you back online. I keep you in my prayers.
God Bless!

Faith

UPDATE: 12:15PM ET FRIDAY, AUGUST 26 2005

Spoke with Mrs. R. All are well. No major damage as far as she can tell. One of her small coconut palm trees was uprooted but it can be replanted. They lost electricity for most of the night but lights are back on.

All is well.

Hello everybody!

"Katrina" is a category 5 hurricane now and heading straight for New Orleans. The city is BELOW SEA LEVEL, so if Katrina doesn't change course there will be an absolute disaster!

There is nothing in "Katrina's" way to weaken it.

Please pray for a miracle!

Hello everyone!

Praise God that we were able to get through the storm without major problems. No flooding in my area, though we were without power for a while. Now we need to pray for those in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama who are getting hit with Katrina as a category 5 hurricane. This is totally devastating for them. May God keep them safe.

Blessings,

Mrs. R
