Hi Still Looking,

Hope you will feel comfortable enough to tell us your story someday.
I am also in my 50's and was raised a JW. I got baptized in Atlanta Ga. in 1969. Yeah I am an old timer. It is a big adjustment leaving the ORG. But it can be done and much happiness will come to you. I have not been to a meeting except 2 Memorials in 3 years. I am more content now then ever. This site has given me the strength and support I needed.

I am glad you found us. Keep writing.

Sophia
Hi sophia thank you for your mail it is very nice to be made so welcome when i have lost so many one time friends and family, it can be painful to write stuff down as you seem to relive it all again, but yep one day i will post my story for you all and maybe it will help, thanks again stillooking 2

Hey Still Looking 2 no worries about your skills on the pc. You'll get the hang of it. Just ask and we'll help if we can. I'm looking forward to hearing how you are doing. 30 years is a long time. I can't begin to understand what you've been through having never been in the org. I'm trying to "help" my brother find the truth and this place is a wealth of information and support. There are many here who are where you are at and we are thankful you are able to join in our many conversations.
Hi Sahm, Thanks for the kind words, i am missing those, in the jw's you have to give up your worldly friend if you want to be a jw, and after 30 years you dont have many when you leave and the ones who were your friends turn their back on you,{ literally} they wont look you in the eyes, their heads go down and they look at the floor untill you've gone by, so thanks again for your kindness. stillooking 2

That just breaks my heart to hear how they can treat their loved ones. How in the world do they believe God would find favor in that????? I'm so sorry for the loss of your friends, I truly believe God will bless you in time. I'll be praying for you.
