Hello everyone, about a month and a half ago I decided to no longer be a JW. I was baptised for 2 years. The majority of my family are JWs. After seeing just how controlling the JW organization really is I decided to leave. It was the scariest decision I ever made. Fortunatly my husband is not a JW and has been very supportive of me. Things are slowly getting back to normal around here. I have been reading the NIV bible and without the "aid" of any WT literature and I'm amazed at what I have never seen before and just how much I don't know. I do know that I do love God but I need to re-educate myself so I can really get to know him. I'm hoping that by being here I can gain support and aid in my efforts to come to know God and Christ.

Welcome to elmwithbranches.

You certainly have come to the right spot. We are a caring bunch of folks here. I am sure you will be helped tremendously. Some of us had been JW as much as 35 years and now know the REAL TRUTH about God.

Blessings;

Hello elmwith3branches!

Welcome to the forum! Let us know how we can help you as you process your experience and come to know Christ as the BIBLE (not the Watchtower) says He is.

In Christian love
Jay

:welcome: I know how you feel. Leaving the Organization was the scariest thing I ever did too. I was born and raised in the "truth".
I have been out 10 years now. I still get scared every once in a while to this day. But you will see you will have a closer relationship with Jesus and Jehovah outside the Society then in it.
There are lots of loving caring people on this site. We all understand and are willing to help you anytime.
Take care,
Brownbelle :smt061

You are very welcome elmwith3branches, I am so glad to hear that you have come away from the wts. Though I have never been in the wts, I have made many nice new exwts friends here on Tower watch D/B.
Indeed the people here are very considerate and helpful people, who not only help those like yourself but I and others who have an interest in Jehovah's Witness,( individuals).
So while you find a blessing being here with us may we too find a blessing having you here.

And of course this goes for you too slant777 sorry I never got to welcome you earlier.

Welcome to the forum. SO much can be learned here, you never get filled with enough knowledge. I think you'll find out that is true here.

Welcome to the site...I am new myself...I am still hoping for the day that I will stop thinking about my former life as a JW...

I still have dreams about going to an assembly or going to the meetings...This drives me crazy..

My husband has been out for over a year and he assures me that it will get better with time...I am trying to focus on other positive things in my life...
