Hi to all, I am new on here and made a post in the "General" category.

I am glad to be here on this forum.

I am from Pennsylvania.

I am not or never been a JW, however my best friend is. I am learning about what they believe which in turn is bringing me closer to Christ.
I believe God has lead me down this path for 2 reasons. 1 to bring me closer to Jesus, and to give testimony to other JW when coming to my door.

I don't believe that they are bad people and I love them as Christ loved the church. I am very saddened in how corrupt that organization is. Through Christ I pray that I can reach someone but at the sametime accept the fact that some of them just might be unteachable.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

I look forward to speaking to all of you.
Chris

Dear Chris,

Welcome to this wonderful forum. Your story mirrors mine in many ways. I have never been a JW but some close friends are, and the prayers and advice of the people here at Towerwatch were a real blessing as I try to minister to them. You couldn't be more correct -- as we minister to those caught in the grip of the Watchtower, we must grow ever closer to the true vine, Jesus!

Once again, welcome. We are looking forward to getting to know you.

Jay

As a side note, I am originally from Bethlehem, PA! I moved here to Hagerstown MD a little over a year ago to teach middle school. Are you from anywhere near Bethlehem?

Greetings Chris and Welcome. You are right about the witnesses, individually, for the most part they are good people. Very sincere in their beliefs and their desire to share them with you. Always ready to lend a hand if need be as well. However the Watchtower keeps them in their grip. All we can do is plant the seed, God will do the rest.

Hi Chris, welcome to the forum. You're correct in believing that JW's are mostly God loving, God fearing people who want to serve and worship the Lord. Unfortunately, the WTS has distorted the truth, and since JW's aren't allowed to question what comes from the Society, they don't have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful for Christians like yourself who feel a call to reach out to JW's with the true Gospel. Let us know if you have any questions, we're more than happy to help.

God bless,

Mrs. R

Thank you Mrs. R,

I apologize to you and everyone else, but for some reason I had a hard time getting on the site let alone the forum. So I am very thankful that I can finally get back on.

I would like to thank you for your warm welcome. I am a big time question asker. So if I will probably take you up on that when I have questions. As a matter of fact, here is one:

I am assuming you were a JW may I ask how long were you a JW and what role (i.e, elder, pioneer) did you have in that group?

Also what did it take for you or anyone else reading this to convince you that what you were being taught wasn't actually the truth?

I hope you had a BLESSED CHRISTMAS!!

Hi again Chris!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I was on vacation and while I stayed at home, I decided I needed to dedicate my time to my family, so I stayed off the computer for awhile. But I'm back, and very happy to be here!

I was basically raised in the organization. My mother began studying when I was about 3 years old so it was the only religion I knew most of my life. I stopped attending when I was 22 years old. You can find my testimony on the Towerwatch website, just go to http://www.towerwatch.com/Testimonies/mrsr.htm and read all about it. It's pretty long but the outcome is wonderful, now that I've been blessed with a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Don't worry about asking questions; that's what we're here for!

Blessings,

Mrs. R

Hello Mrs. R, I hope your Christmas and New Year were filled with the grace of God? Mine was!! Our church did something new this year. On New Years Eve from 9:00pm to about 12:30am we sang christian songs, fellowshipped, worshipped for 3 hours. Then right after 12:00am the first thing we did was we all got on our knees at the alter to bring in the New Year for Christ. I was so AWESOME. I felt so free and at peace!! :snoopy:

Anyway, I want to thank you for your testimony. WOW what a testimony! GOD BLESS and PRAISE GOD!! [-o<

I have so many questions I feel I have to ask as far as how to respond to some of the things my friend has said to me. I am not quick with words and sometimes when she states things out their bible it is so close to what my bible says it is uncanny. I would like to email you directly only because some of the questions I have, could possibly have a bad impact on someone checking this site out as a guest or someone who has just left that organization but yet still confused. I don't want to hinder them in anyway!!! My email is listed in my profile if you would like to email me or you can also IM me at AOL or YAHOO.

My church always tells us that it isn't about religion its all about a relationship with Jesus Christ! :snoopy:

Again thank you for everything
In Christ
Chris

Hi Chris, I am also Chris but of the other gender.

I was a JW 29 years, and although never appointed an elder did come close to Ministerial Servant a few times, however I was one who researched and asked questions, and of course JW's don't like that. Also, I could never accept their application of Proverbs 4:18, saying new light means that they can receive new information from God, corrected... to me that meant what He gave previously was wrong, right? That was the straw that broke the camels back for me as far as leaving... there are others but that was the main one.

Since you're in PA, ever thought about attending the annual Witnesses Now For Jesus event near New Ringgold in October?
Cal -and his family, me and Beth, and Friendly Sid from the forum here go and have a wonderful time.
